In 1992 Carlos van der Veek sets up a flower bulb company and a after a few years joins Jeroen van den Hoek and completes the company. The name C. van der Veek no longer covers the activities and the company is called Fluwel ever since.
Jeroen and Carlos found each other in their passion for the flower bulb profession. Once you start talking about tulips and daffodils, just make another cup of coffee, because they won’t stop talking anymore.
For years Fluwel sells the best flower bulbs to outstanding companies all over the world. The famous amusement park Tivoli in Copenhagen is filled with Fluwels tulips. For well-established mail-order firms like the American White Flower Farm exclusive packaging’s are designed for Carlos’s special daffodils. Each year Jeroen sends a complete cargo plane to Hong Kong, packed with red tulips on pot flowering at just the right time for an exhibition. At Keukenhof in Lisse you can recognize Fluwels exhibit by its beautiful color combinations. And the flowerpots on Floriade 2012 in Venlo? Right they also came from Fluwel. Their reputation is fantastic, when products come from Fluwel buyers know it is OK.
In the meantime many private gardeners have discovered Fluwels exclusive collection. Only the bulbs Carlos and Jeroen regard most beautiful and prime are offered in their webshop. Customers turn them inside out with questions about tulips, bulbs, planting and harvesting. They always have an answer, even to questions you yourself did not even thought of. Due to this the wish arises to put their knowhow on paper.
By now Fluwels webshop is a source of knowledge and planting tips, in Amsterdam a complete Tulip Museum is created and still the men are not satisfied. In 2012 theme park Fluwel's Tulpenland opens her doors. Totally imagined and designed after their wishes. But keep an eye on them, these experts think of something new over and over again.
